At Uni Systems, we are working towards turning digital visions into reality. We are continuously growing and we are looking for a WiFi Network Engineer to join our UniQue Brussels team.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our customers in the public sector and you will be responsible for developing new business by identifying profitable opportunities, maintaining your client portfolio by building strong, long-lasting relationships, and monitoring the progress of the projects, with the aim to provide excellent client service and added value services.
What will you be bringing to the team?
- Site Surveys: Conduct thorough site surveys to assess the physical environment, identify potential sources of interference, and determine optimal access point (AP) placement. Analyze building layouts, materials, and RF characteristics to create a comprehensive plan for wireless coverage.
- WiFi Network Design: Design and plan WiFi networks based on site survey findings, considering factors such as capacity, coverage, and client density. Select appropriate wireless equipment, antennas, and configurations to meet the specific requirements of the deployment.
- Configuration: Configure and optimize wireless network equipment, including access points, controllers, and other related devices. Implement security protocols and encryption standards to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of the wireless communication.
- Optimization: Continuously optimize WiFi networks to improve performance, reliability, and user experience. Adjust channel assignments, power levels, and roaming parameters to minimize interference and maximize coverage.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve WiFi connectivity issues by analyzing logs, conducting packet captures, and using network monitoring tools. Investigate and troubleshoot problems related to signal strength, interference, and other wireless connectivity issues.
- Capacity Planning: Monitor and analyze network traffic to identify potential capacity issues and plan for network expansion or upgrades. Implement solutions to manage and optimize bandwidth usage, ensuring a seamless user experience.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, site survey results, and troubleshooting procedures. Create network diagrams and documentation to assist in future troubleshooting and expansion efforts.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other IT professionals, including network engineers, security specialists, and system administrators, to ensure a holistic approach to network design and optimization. Work closely with clients or stakeholders to understand their requirements and expectations.Stay Informed:Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in WiFi engineering. Attend relevant conferences, webinars, and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Performance Monitoring: Implement monitoring tools to track the performance of the WiFi network and proactively address any issues before they impact users. Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the overall health and efficiency of the wireless infrastructure.
Requirements
What do you need to succeed in this position?
- Education : Master degree in Computer Science or similar
- Experience: 8+ years of experience in network engineering ,WiFi technologies and Site Surveys
- Expertise and knowledge in WIFI technologies mainly Aruba/Cisco and Ekahau Site Servey
- Experience with advanced security monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as CloudWatch and Wireshark but also tools leveraging Threat intelligence
- Expert knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards
- Expert in Site Serveys , WiFi troubleshooting , WiFi Improvements
- Experience with migrating security policies from on-premise to the cloud and the use of the tools to automate the process
- Fluent in English written and oral
- CCNP / Aruba Certified Mobility Expert (ACMX) / ECSE Certified / CWSP Certified Wireless Security Professional / CWTS would be a strong advantage
- Fluent in English written and oral would be an advantage
