Duties and Role:
Within the NDW Centre, the Workspace Services Group is responsible for the lifecycle and in-service support of End-User devices (i.e. Desktops/Laptops/Tablets), Printers, Scanners, Plotters and Mobile Telephony services across the NATO Enterprise. In close coordination with distributed support teams, workspace team's main focus is to provide 24/7 timely response to Incidents and service requests coupled with a continuous effort to provide end-users with a state-of-art digital work experience (in-office and mobile).
Under the direction of Section Head Technical Support, the incumbent will perform duties such as the following:
- Install, maintain and operate the full range of computing, printing and network devices required to deliver systems and services for customer office automation.
- Install and configure for use, COTS software on networked and standalone workstations.
- Install and configure network client software on LAN workstations.
- Configure local server software and configure special peripheral devices.
- Create, maintain and troubleshoot user access issues for static and mobile devices.
- Work with Organisational Units in Active Directory and Group Policy.
- Working with McAfee EPO on the Data Los Prevention access list.
- Execute support requests, work orders and other tasks.
- Prepare software packages for automatic deployment.
- Contribute to IT Security compliance and remediation.
- Contribute to incident, change, configuration and asset management processes through ITSM toolkit.
- Perform Security Compliance Patching of Workstations and Servers.
- Perform Monthly Patching of Workstations and Servers.
- Maintain and set the user ACL for Shared Network and Group Mailbox.
- Update user machine software and applications as required via SCCM with AFL SW Approval.
- Working with smart card or USB tokens to authenticate users and securely access domains.
- Deputize for higher-grade staff, if required.
- Perform other duties as may be required
Requirements
Skill, Knowledge amp; Experience:
- The candidate must have a currently active NATO SECRET security clearance
- Higher vocational training in a relevant discipline with 2 years post-related experience.
- Alternatively, a secondary educational qualification with 4 years post-related experience.
- Computing Technology Industry Associating (CompTIA A+) or Microsoft Certified IT Professional.
- Proven Experience working Microsoft System Centre Configuration Manager.
- Proven Experience working with Active Directory Objects, user accounts and permissions.
- 2 years' experience working in an ICT CIS environment, supporting IT users, desktop hardware and software, and working in an IT administration role.
- Knowledge of the capabilities and deployment of Personal Computers (PC).
- Knowledge of current operating systems and office automation software.
Desirable Experience and Education:
- Prior experience of working in an international environment comprising both military and civilian elements.
- Knowledge of NATO responsibilities and organization, including ACO and ACT.
Language Proficiency:
- A thorough knowledge of one of the two NATO languages, both written and spoken, is essential and some knowledge of the other is desirable.
NOTE: Most of the work of the NCI Agency is conducted in the English language.
