We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate, pro-active and experienced Payroll amp; HR Officer to join our busy HR and Operations teams based in Brussels. This is a Fixed Term Contract for 12 months, on a part-time basis (80%).

Requirements


We are looking for someone who.

  • Prepares and administers the payroll in an accurate and timely manner for permanent staff in Belgium (SD Worx) and The Netherlands (BDO) as well as for SNCB secondees, including salary-split process
  • Administers the benefits schemes
  • Acts as an expert for all employee queries relating to payroll, benefits schemes, internal processes and procedures, employment law, .
  • Coordinates with SNCB for secondment-related queries
  • Is responsible for the day-to-day HR and office administration (preparing and administering contracts and addendum, updating personal records, filing)
  • Supports the HR Manager in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures
  • Liaises with Finance to complete PO processes and ensures that all third parties are paid correctly and on time
  • Gives support to the Safety Team for wellbeing and health issues
  • Updates the intranet and assists with internal communications related to HR topics
  • Supports HR Business Partners and the HR Manager with non-complex employee relations case work and escalates complex issues
  • Maintains high levels of confidentiality and sensitivity in dealing with all issues especially when handling sensitive situations and information
  • Assists with all parts of the recruitment life cycle and manages the on-boarding and off-boarding process
  • Works on HR projects in line with business and people plans


You will need.

  • A Bachelor or Master degree with a minimum of 2 years’ experience within payroll and HR
  • Knowledge of payroll processing, including salary-split
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of integrity and confidentiality
  • Excellent time management and the ability to prioritise
  • To be a quick learner, with the ability to work in a changeable environment
  • To demonstrate resilience and empathy to sensitive situations
  • To be self-motivated and pro-active
  • To respond positively to change and be active in implementing new ideas
  • Great interpersonal skills, and able to build strong and successful relationships
  • To be fluent in French and English, Dutch is a plus
  • To be proficient in using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Knowledge of Oracle is a plus
  • Experience in the rail industry is desirable but not essential
