Our lifetime mission is to inspire 100 million people to innovate for a better tomorrow.

Board of Innovation HQ is looking to bring onboard a Financial and legal Officer.

Because we are a 45+ people (growing) scale-up, we are looking for a hands-on financial and legal Officer to support our CFO (Jan) with general financial management and legal matters. Expect this to be a starting point of your role:

Financial management and administration, be the right-hand of our CFO (70%)

  • Financial administration (e.g. sending out invoices, expense management, PO follow-up, payments, bank related matters, etc.)
  • General SME financial management amp; analysis
  • Help set up a controlling practice and own the monthly closing.
  • Manage financial 3th party relations (e.g. external accountancy firms, banks, insurance providers.)
  • Proactively design, implement and improve process flows (e.g. invoicing flow, expenses flow)
  • Manage working capital via our external accounting firms
  • Support our ambitious multi-year growth plan (e.g. identify Mamp;A targets)
  • Support the implementation of an ERP amp; BI system and align with global teams (Singapore and New York)

Management of legal matters (30%)

  • Act as a liaison between lawyers and Board of Innovation (mainly client contracts amp; negotiations)
  • Manage legal risk (in cooperation with our lawyers and legal advisors)
  • Make sure we're compliant with legal governance (e.g. Board of Directors meetings amp; reporting)
  • Adopt, implement and monitor an integrated approach to business problems

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience for this role (e.g. as a financial analyst, financial/business controller, auditor, corporate/tax law associate, accountant,.)
  • Relevant educational background preferred (e.g. Applied Economics, Finance amp; Accounting, Law,.)
  • Solid knowledge of SME financial management amp; analysis
  • Experience with various types of contracts, (international) legal structuring and tax management is a big plus.
  • You are very hands-on, eager to learn and love to work in a fast-paced scale-up environment
  • Advanced spreadsheet skills (pivot tables, advanced formula's, graphs,.)
  • Experience with ERP implementation and BI-tools is a big plus
  • Strong entrepreneurial drive and ambitious profile
  • Very analytical and accurate
  • A strong business-side understanding
  • You think strategically, and execute operationally (together with our CFO)
  • Outstanding communicator in Dutch and English
  • You look forward to working in an international agency with 45+ inspiring colleagues

Why work at Board of Innovation?

  • You enjoy being part of a global innovation consultancy working for some of the biggest brands in the world (like Roche, AB Inbev, World Economic Forum, Nestlé, and many more).
  • You thrive in an entrepreneurial environment and want to contribute to our overall business strategies and growth.
  • You want numerous on-the-job-and-beyond learning opportunities, and you'll receive a self-development budget.
  • You look for a place where you can be your whole self, and become part of a highly talented, ambitious, (from time to time hilarious) international and diverse team (17 different nationalities and counting!)
  • You are eager to build a global professional network through our offices and clients worldwide (New York, Singapore, Antwerp, Amsterdam), while appreciating Antwerp as your base.
  • You will get a market-conform remuneration package, benchmarked with Belgian standards.
  • Pre- and post-Covid, we like to surf with the global team once a year. Not just on the internet, but also on the waves in the South of France during our annual Summer Office, bringing the whole team together to connect, learn and have fun.
  • You can work flexibly when you're most productive. We don't have typical 9 to 5 expectations. And of course, remote work is highly supported! However. Post-Covid, we'll be happy to return to our beloved offices with standing desks, cozy coffee corners, fresh fruits and healthy lunches!

Board of Innovation recognises the positive value of diversity, promotes equality and challenges discrimination. We welcome and encourage people of all backgrounds to apply.
