Job Description

The team:

Genetec is currently seeking a Sales Engineer to cover the Benelux (Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg) and to participate in supporting the wider EMEA Region. The position is home based and the applicant would ideally live within close proximity to good road rail and air links as regular travel is expected.

The Sales Engineer will work with the Genetec sales team in a pre-sales role to develop and position solutions encompassing Genetec’s products. The Genetec product portfolio includes Video, Access control and LPR.

During the qualification process, confirm that Genetec’s products meet the requirements and assist sales in technical qualification. Throughout the proposal process, articulate and demonstrate Genetec solutions, influence customer’s technical requirements, and position products relative to competition.

Working closely with the Regional Sales Manager, the SE is responsible for all of the technical aspects of the sale during the entire sales cycle and is often involved with the client post purchase.

Presentations up to board level and conference call discussions are a critical part of this position.

Other duties will be assigned as required.

The Sales Engineer will report to the Sales Engineering Manager

What your day will look like:
  • Develop and maintain an extensive working knowledge of Genetec's software and hardware solutions
  • Define product and functional requirements based on customer and partner requirements
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and partners
  • Conduct in-depth product demonstrations and presentations
  • Support sales team in responding to RFP’s
  • Work with Technical Support team to assure a smooth transition from pre-sales to the post-sales implementation environment
  • Participate in trade shows, exhibitions and seminars
  • Create white papers and application notes on Genetec’s software solutions
  • Provide technical feedback from the field to Product Management
About you:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Sciences or Computer/Software Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • 6 Years of work experience minimum with 2-5 years of experience in sales engineering or field engineering for an IT company or security company
  • Possesses strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to travel within territory at least 40% of the time
  • Experience in the Physical security market is an asset
  • Be comfortable working in a multicultural and multi-national company
  • As well as local language(s) applicant must speak English to a business standard
  • Other European languages qualification is an asset
Technical Requirements:
  • A good working knowledge of the Genetec product set is preferred, if not then experience with similar market leading products would be beneficial
  • Experience with video devices and software or Access Control systems
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of networking principles and the IP protocol
  • Excellent knowledge of Windows Operating Systems
  • Experience with PC configuration
  • MCSE and/or CCNA certification is an asset
  • General high level knowledge in IT technologies
