Job Description
GEM One is a brand new tech company within TVH Holding that aims at developing future-proof solutions for optimal fleet performance management in multiple domains such as: track amp; trace, operational efficiency, security amp; safety and service amp; maintenance. We offer cloud-based solutions and the necessary hardware components to intelligently gather and enrich data of industrial equipment to streamline fleet management related processes.
To support the rapid growth of GEM One, we are looking for a Software Developer to join our Ramp;D team.
What will you do?
You’ll be the first to explore the possibilities of our hard- and software, pushing the boundaries, experimenting and prototyping new ideas - often in close collaboration with our customers.
You’ll develop proof of concepts or even minimum viable products using Spring Boot microservices in Java 11 and deploy them on K8s on Google Cloud Platform. If a minimal UI is required, you can also help write Javascript and Typescript on Node.
You’ll write clean code - other teams will depend on it when your idea is proven and ready to be integrated! You’ll also write well-tested code, it gives you, the team and our customer peace of mind when deploying to production.
You’ll be responsible for technical analysis, design and development of features - end-to-end from idea to PoC or MVP. Of course, you can count on your team members for cross-checking and collaboration.
You’ll arrive in an Agile team where every new idea is welcomed, having a substantial impact on the products we build.
You’ll be the first to get your hands on all kinds of cool hardware and equipment - ranging from long-range RFID readers, tracking devices up to actual machines and forklifts.
Requirements
Must have:
State of the art knowledge of Java (version 8 or above)
Clean code and SOLID are well known to you
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or IT followed by at least 3-5 years solid working experience in software development
A thirst for knowledge, Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities a willingness to learn and to teach!
Programmed as a team player, communicator, cross-team collaborator, independent worker, a can-do mentality, honest and straight to the point
Fluent in English
Nice to have
An interest in basic electronics and digital protocols or interfaces used in the automotive industry and/or IoT applications such as CAN-bus, MQTT, Lora, SigFox, .
Experience in digital technology, IoT or electronic engineering
Experience or strong interest to learn additional technologies such as: TypeScript / Angular, SQL, Cloud enable environments (Kubernetes), Linux
Knowledge and experience in Agile development processes
