What will you do?
As an IoT Data Engineer you will shape and implement GEM One's data amp; analytics technological strategy
In close collaboration with the CTO, the IoT Solution architect and Product Owners, you will build and maintain a consistent, scalable and future proof data platform, delivering direct value to our customers through functional and analytical data services.
By designing and facilitating processes for extracting, transforming and loading the data into clean and well-documented data repositories, you’ll enable and support the daily data operations.
To ensure state of the art IoT capabilities, you’ll research and introduce new technologies for IoT data management, covering the domains of streaming data amp; analytics, rule engines, batch data processing, (self-service) analytics and advanced data modeling using machine learning..
Requirements
Must Have
A Master’s degree in engineering or IT (or equivalent in experience), followed by a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience as data engineer
Strong understanding of building data warehouses/lakes, optimizing data pipelines and data transformation systems
Strong interest in cutting edge digital technologies
Knowledge of data sources: data models/types (e.g. relational, time-series, NoSQL, Big Data), data storage technologies (e.g. BigTable, BigQuery, Cloud SQL)
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, proactive
Nice to have
Strong, additional programming skills (e.g. SQL, Python)
Familiar with GCP (a.o. PubSub, DataFlow, DataProc, DataFusion)
Knowledge of analytical algorithms
Experience with ETL tooling (e.g. Pentaho, Talend)
Atechnical background related to data generated by machinery
