Hi, we are Loop. We make earplugs. But not the mushy sound-muting kind. Ours don’t block the sound; they filter it. And they look smart and fit comfortably too. Thousands of noise sensitive people went crazy for them, calling them ‘a life changer’.
Today, we’re one of the fastest growing DTC brands in hearables. We innovated the most functional object out there, played the design card and disrupted the entire hearing market.
Ok, but that’s just one product. What’s next? Fair question. The answer? We want to become the leader in enhanced hearing. Which means: a ton of disruptive new products, maybe even services. Big ambitions! Big plans! No wonder we’re looking for an SeniorIndustrial Designer.
Someone who can:
Draw up our product ideas. And our future.
Our current status? Sitting on a pile of exciting productideas that need to be brought to life. And that’s where you come in. So, pencil or software to sketch out a firstproductconcept? Not that it matters though. You’re a visualizingphenomenon, your sketches are spot on either way. A quick brainstorm and you’re good to go. But never without keeping the bigger design picture in mind too. Here’s where your notion of engineering, usability, and business will come in handy. If you do need a second opinion, reach out to Robrecht. That’s our Product Development Manager and the person you report to.
Multiple designproposals for the same product idea? Sure, you tend to look at things from different angles anyway. You’re so curious it’s contagious. And you’ve got the 3D and renderingskills to back it up. Much to the delight of our Product Managers, Marketing team and the user research department. They’ll use your work in their user and market research and figure out which design/product works best.
Does being Loop’s go-to visualizer means the new productideas can’t come from you? Not at all. On the contrary. If you have some ideas, we’d love to hear them. Oh, and you’re involved in just about every new product project, from front-end to development. Plenty of chances to put in your two cents.
Other things on your to-do list? Create visualprototypes, inspire the team visually, advise in supplier meetings, Oh, and help build the future of Loop. We’re a scale-up, you see. Everybody pitches in. And we’re looking at you, as a senior, to think along, lead, teach, kick-startthings, and eventually draw up your ownteam. Up for it?
Nail down the Loop esthetic
One look at of one of our hearables. And bam! You know it’s a Loop product. That’s the effect we’re looking for. In other words: you’re here to guard Loop’s signature productdesignlanguage.
How? Two words: design guide. There’s a base to start from, up to you to expand and own it. But not without asking the big questions first. What makes a Loop product a Loop product? How does it look? What does it feel like? What are the criteria every single Loop product needs to live up to? You know, the things industrial designers with 7 to 10 years of experience ask their selves on a daily basis.
Found the answers? Now fill in the details. Signature shapes, colors, materials, finishes, curves, Your urge to get things just right will come in handy here. Just plug in our two product designers and nail it down. Neatly structured and crystal clear. That guide is our bible. And we’ll worship you for it. Because you won’t just help out the entire development team. With it, it’s easier to work with external partners and freelancers too.
That was just an appetizer though. The main course? Making sure our entire product portfolio lives up to your guide. Which means you get to review and update our existingproducts. Let the make-over madness begin!
Requirements
Only two of them? Yes. Nice surprise, isn’t it? They’re not up for discussion though. Must-have material.
