GemOne is a brand new tech company within TVH Holding that aims at developing future-proof solutions for optimal fleet performance management in multiple domains such as: track amp; trace, operational efficiency, security amp; safety and service amp; maintenance. We offer cloud-based solutions and the necessary hardware components to intelligently gather and enrich data of industrial equipment to streamline fleet management related processes.

We co-create super cool solutions enabling our customers to show the live location of entire fleets of forklifts, aerial platforms, service vans; remotely enable/disable access to machines; predict when a machine needs its next maintenance; read sensors from machines for remote diagnostics.

To support the rapid growth of GemOne, we are looking for a Ramp;D IoT Engineer to join our Ramp;D team.

What will you do exactly?

As an Ramp;D IoT Engineer you’ll evaluate, integrate or develop new IoT devices and applications in order to give our customers deep live insights on their off-road vehicles. You will keep researching new ways to expand the capabilities of our currently deployed IoT devices. You’ll also research, experiment and design new solutions by developing proof of concepts or minimum viable products, often in close collaboration with our customers.

You will:

Take on an expert role, providing technical advice in your domain so product owners and software engineers can continuously improve the quality and reliability of the provided solutions.

Introduce new ideas for gateway devices and sensors to work towards a ‘smart’ fleet capable of anticipating market changes and evolutions.

Work out feasibility studies and cost-benefit evaluations to safeguard the financial health and continuity of our organisations.

Work closely together with data engineers and Electronic Ramp;D engineers to design and develop hard- and software solutions allowing us to connect to the internal CAN bus of the off-road equipment, including the data-gathering, -interpretation and -utilization.

Collaborate with engineers in different fields and suppliers, study and understand the major principles of electric- and combustion engines and hydraulic systems in order to develop and test advanced devices and sensing technologies.

Provide input to different stakeholders to ensure the flow of information on planning and timelines towards the persons involved in the project.

Stay up to date on the evolutions and development within a broad spectrum of your business domain. By staying on point and well-informed you gain credibility as an expert and share your knowledge to further strengthen the organization.

Requirements

Master’s degree in engineering or IT, or equivalent by experience

3+ years’ experience in digital technology or electronic engineering.

Solid software development skills (Python)

Basic electronics and hardware knowledge, with a focus on digital electronics.

Know your way around a Linux system, applied to embedded systems is a big plus.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

A thirst for knowledge, be able to explain technical specifications

Fluent English speaking, with excellent communication skills - in or cross-team, including client-facing from time to time.

Able to work accurately, flexibly, methodically and systematically

Nice to have

Experience or a strong interest in working with a cloud-enabled environment (GCP) using Kubernetes.

An interest in digital protocols or interfaces used in the automotive industry and/or IoT applications such as CAN-bus, MQTT, Lora, SigFox, ...

Proven experience within IoT engineering

Knowledge and experience in Agile development processes

Dutch and/or French language skills
