Job Description

Hi, we are Loop. We make earplugs. But not the mushy sound-muting kind. Ours don’t block the sound; they filter it. And they look smart and fit comfortably too. Thousands of noise sensitive people went crazy for them, calling them ‘a life changer’.

Today, we’re one of the fastest growing DTC brands in hearables. And we keep on growing. Exploding even. But we’re ambitious. We want to get our name and earplugs out there, changing even more lives.

Guess what’s up there right next to our skyrocketing growth rate? Our standards. We raised the bar for hearables once.
And we’ll keep doing it. Not just by launching a bunch of new products, though. No, we want to improve what’s already there too. Upgrade them. Down to the tiniest little detail. There’s just one thing missing though.
A Senior Product Developer to take our existing range of products to the next level.

Someone who can:

Make our earplugs better

And by ‘better’ we mean the best earplugs out there. Because anyone can make a new product, but it takes real genius to improve an existing one, right? Up to you to get it done. Whether it’s by updating the design, improving usability, or introducing a new material that will up our overall quality perception. Your hawk eye for details will come in handy here.

The development part? All yours too. From concept to prototype?down to?user?testing?and finetuning the?design. You plan, manage, and own the whole thing. Budget and timeline included. Your itch to control things from A to Z? Here’s where you get to scratch it. That perfectionist side of yours? It’s a real superpower here. Not just in your own projects, but in our overall cost of goods sold too. That needs to go down. For obvious reasons.

By the way, you won’t just run improvementprojects. We have some smaller incremental ones coming up too. No need to show you the ropes though, ‘structure’ is your second name, and ‘Karen’ your third. You know how to juggle multiple projects. And besides, you’ve developed customergoods before. You have the experience, and you’re not afraid to use or share it with the team.

Play the team card

Quick question: your negotiating skills, are they any good? Yes? Great, because you’re not just working together with fellow Loopers in the development team. You also follow up on all externalspecialists and suppliers involved. In short: you plug in the right people at the right time. And touch base with them when needed. Oh, and if you’re ever in doubt about anything, just reach out to Robrecht, our Product Development Manager and your team lead.

Speaking of teams. You won’t be doing this alone. You have an entire crew of product developers, mechanical engineers, user-centric designers, industrial designers, and an operations team to back you up. Go dev team!

Requirements

Only three of them? Yes. Nice surprise, isn’t it? They’re not up for discussion though. Must-have material.

  • You know how to get your ideas across. You’re fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • You’re pretty awesome in general. A sense of humor? Even better.
  • You’re in our Antwerp office on a regular basis, but otherwise you’re free to work wherever. Why? You need to work with a lot of other Loopers. And that’s just easier in person.

Benefits

A.k.a. the what’s-in-it-for-you part.

  • A challenge. No really, it’s the one thing we’re absolutely sure of around here.
  • We take care of our people. So, we pay them what they’re worth. Expect a competitive pay for your level of experience and potential. Legal benefits included.
  • An openminded work culture. And we’re not just saying that. We operate on a global level. Which means we work with people from all over the world.
  • A ping-pong table. Are we even a legit scale-up without it? #lifequestions
  • Also: Malta. The location of our last team building. Just saying.
  • Friday afternoon off during July and August. Fully paid. No strings attached. Go ahead, live your life to the fullest.

So, what do you think? Are you our next Senior Product Developer? If it’s a ‘yes’ or even just a ‘maybe’ reach out to Astrid, our Talent Partner. A link to your LinkedIn profile will do. An up-to-date CV is nice, but it’s not a must.
