Objective - Purpose - Mission
The high level of customization and complexity of Robot Casting Technology requires a dedicated Hardware and Electrical Engineering to take place to provide integration of Vesuvius products into customer process and installation.
The Hardware and Electrical Designer, thanks to his technical expertise on instrumentation cabling and control has the mission to ensure efficient management of equipment interconnexions in line with the heavy industrial environment requirement and constraints. In addition, his early involvement in projects allows quick response for the Shop test preparation.
Requirements
Responsibilities
- Translate the Basic Engineering detailing Electrical installation and requirements into layouts and detailed definition of each Electrical components separately.
- Support our Engineering Team in the Testing and Validation phase of the equipments: At subcontractor site or during shop tests in our workshop
- Design electrical diagram following norms and specifications defined by the Hardware and Electrical Leader
- Define and select Electrical components to be used
- Evaluate Electrical consumptions on the installation and select protection equipment, Wiring and Cabling sizes accordingly.
- Perform Selectivity rules for the equipments Electrical protections
- Maintain and keep updated the Standard database of equipments
- To communicate any design or performance weaknesses identified with Engineering team
- Ensure good communication with Subcontractors to keep equipment manufacturing always on track
- Hardware and Electrical Leader as necessary to gain a full understanding of the Project and obtain all relevant information and documentation as well as after each commissioning to discuss any issues or outstanding open points as detailed in the Technical Assistance Report.
- Customer and sub-contractors as necessary to ensure the satisfactory completion of the technical investigation or Project.

- Knowledge in Automation Hardware components wiring : PLC’s, I/O cards, Safety,...
- Knowledge in Electrical components : Circuit-Breaker, Relays, Power supplies, Terminals,.
- Knowledge on field equipment wiring and protections : Sensors, Actuators, Pneumatic, Hydraulic devices,
- Autonomous and result oriented.
- Conversant in English

Qualifications
- Capability to hands-on with equipment : Wiring, Cabling,...
- Expert in reading and understanding of electrical drawings.
- Ability to supervise sub-contractors in the wiring and cabling process.
- Ability to perform quality check on manufactured equipment. Shop testing and validation of equipment.
- Good communication skills to interact with Engineers in different teams
VIE Eligibility Criteria
- be between 18 and 28 years old at the date of registration.
- be a national of one of the member countries of the European Economic Area (EEA).
- have completed the national service obligations in your home country (if any).
- no criminal records.
- not have done any VIE in the past.
