Job Description
Hi, we are Loop. We make earplugs. But not the mushy sound-muting kind. Ours don’t block the sound; they filter it. And they look smart and fit comfortably too. Thousands of noise sensitive people went crazy for them, calling them ‘a life changer’.
Today, we’re one of the fastestgrowing DTC brands in hearables. And we keep on growing. Exploding even. But we’re ambitious. We want to get our name and earplugs out there, changing even more lives.
You know what’s growing too? Our revenue. It’s four times last year’s revenue. Great, right? For sure, no complaints here.
But with it, our cash management, legal structure, reporting and tax challenges have gotten way more complex too.
So, we’re looking for a financial fireball to take our Finance department to the next level. And make it futureproof too.
Because we’re not planning on retiring any time soon.
Will it be a certified challenge? Yes, no doubt about it.
Doable? If you’re the sharp Senior Accountant who ticks off all the boxes below, for sure.
Because you are
An accounting ace who gets things done
You know the ins, outs, and backdoors of modern-day accounting. Managing our books on a day-to-day basis is a no-brainer. You’ve done this before. And you’ve got a degree in Accounting or Finance to back you up. Accounts payable, account receivable, collections, cash flow, bank accounts, you’re in fullcontrol. At all times. You spot double payments or missing invoices from a mile away. And you’ll do anything to get the paperwork you need to get those accounts in check again. That inner perfectionist of yours will love it. Besides, you have an administrative assistant in your team to fall back on too. Together, you’ll be on top of things. We’re sure of it.
You’re not just a numbers person though, you know how to talk to people too. And those peopleskills will come in handy.
Because our VAT administration and reporting are under your care too. And for that, you need to touch base with our external accountant.
A financial globetrotter who thinks ahead
We’re an internationalcompany, you see. So, our entities in China and the US need to be taken care of too. And those come with their own VAT systems, admin, and legal structures. That international accounting experience of yours? Here’s where you get it to put to good use because 99% of our sales are internationally based. Our Finance Manager can hardly wait to hear your input on the matter. Know a thing or two about Quick Books too? Great. Exact Online is your natural habitat? That's a plus. Experience in e-commerce? That's even a bigger plus.
Speaking of our FinanceManager. Her name is Babette. She’s your go-to person if you need a second pair of eyes and the one you report to as well. She has your back and you’ve got hers. Together, you’ll work on the monthly and quarterly management numbers, the annual closing of the books and the accountancyfutureof our financial team. Which Finance Loopers to hire next, which path to follow, which priorities to set, you have a say in all of it. Ready to fire up that strategicmind of yours?
Oh, one last thing. We’re a scale-up. So, things change quite quickly around here. That’s right up your alley, you say? Great.
It also means we’re not set on ‘the way that things have always been done.’ If you have ideas to simplify our wayofinvoicing, our expense or payroll system - or any other process for that matter - we’d love to hear them. We never turn down a well-researched experiment. Test them, learn and if the entire finance team is on board, it’s full speed ahead to set things in motion. Put your project manager cap on and go for it.
Requirements
Only three of them? Yes. Nice surprise, isn’t it? They’re not up for discussion though. Must-have material.
- You’re fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
- You’re pretty awesome in general. A sense of humor? Even better.
- You’re in our Antwerp office on a regular basis, but otherwise you’re free to work wherever. Why? You need to work with a lot of other Loopers. And that’s just easier in person.
