You will become part of the finance team of 4 people reporting to the Finance Director. Requirements

Key responsibilities

• Perform accounting functions as assigned including; booking, reconciling, reporting various operational expenses.
• Perform all activities related to cash, credit cards amp; bank including reconciliations and weekly treasury updates.
• Support the Finance team on various monthend, quarterend and yearend close activities from General Ledger accounting, reconciliations, accruals and other ad hoc activities.
• Manage BCW’s fixed assets.
• Prepare the monthly VAT declaration, the yearly VAT listing and the Belgian tax return.
• Answer to specific request from Belgian authorities such as statistics/ad-hoc requests.
• Document, analyse and report in accordance with WPP internal policies and procedures (SOX).
• Provide support related to all requests from Internal auditors.
• Prepare statutory accounts as per Belgian GAAP and liaison with the external auditors.
• Assist in accounting projects or perform other duties as assigned.
• Coach and supervise the Junior Accountant.

Competencies amp; Skills

• Bachelor degree in Accounting qualification;
• Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles (Belgian amp; US GAAP);
• 4-6 years of accounting experience, ideally in a professional services company such as agency, law firm, consulting;
• Highly motivated, proactive and resultsdriven team player;
• Well organized, very accurate and compliance driven. Able to deal with tight reporting deadlines;
• Strong analytical and good communication skills;
• Good computer literacy: knowledge of ERP systems, strong in MS Excel. Experience with Maconomy (Deltek) is a plus.
• Fluent English required, and good knowledge of French and/or Dutch.
