Job Description

Part time role: 2 days a week, over 4 or 5 days

Reports to: UK HRBP / UK Chief of Staff

ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Human Resources Manager, Brussels, you will build upon your current, comprehensive knowledge of the Brussels HR environment to help manage and develop the growing team at GCI Health in Brussels. You will act as both an enabler and an influencer ensuring that the role adds demonstrable value to the GCI Health Brussels business strategy and supports company senior leaders in retaining and developing the team. You will manage the roll out of the GCI Health people strategy and be responsible for deploying and enabling the strategy through day-to-day tasks and management of the wider team.

You will have a hands-on approach in managing the team, ensuring in-office pastoral care and team support, working closely with counterparts in GCI Health UK/Globally and BCW in Brussels, and managing all parts of the employee lifecycle. This role will include team support and management, employee relations, onboarding, recruitment and learning and development.

Requirements

In-Person Pastoral Care:

As a new and growing team of 5 people in Brussels, you will have a hand-on approach in managing the team. In office presence will be critical to help guide and mentor and ensure we are tracking development, well-being and motivation for all. You will coordinate and introduce initiatives linked to well-being, linked to GCI Health UK, GCI Health Group or the BCW Group. You will stay up-to-date with applicable local Belgian health and safety laws and regulations and ensure staff are properly trained in and comply with these regulations.


Onboarding:

You will be responsible for establishing solid onboarding practices for the GCI Health Brussels team, developing an onboarding process and materials in collaboration with the UK HR lead that can be used when new staff join. This will include planning, prepping for new staff to join, meeting new staff and orienteering on their first day/week, HR catch-ups over first few weeks/months etc.


Learning and Development:

You will develop and manage the 2023 learning and development plan for the GCI Health Brussels team in collaboration with the UK learning and development lead. The basis of this plan will be taken from the GCI Health UK plans, but also adding training specific to the skills needed within the GCI Health Brussels team.


Performance Management:

Management of internal line management process, including training line managers on the process and policies, tracking/managing annual reviews, managing performance issues as needed, hosting and managing annual People Day, all aligned with the UK process/team.


Employee Relations:

You will manage and coordinate all employee relations, providing resolution of complex people issues, providing strategic and operational insight, advice, knowledge and experience from across the Brussels business. This will also include, but not be limited to, annual leave management, sick leave management, policy development, employee survey development and implementation, monthly processes, freelancer management. You will also have a hand on building and supporting culture activities alongside Office Lead.


Recruitment:

You will manage recruitment as needed, liaising with recruiters, reviewing CVs, setting up interviews with the team, liaising with candidates, contract development / negotiations alongside BCW counterparts.
